Quick Shot
Named after the Brown Line “L” street-level stop located a few steps north, Rockwell Neighborhood Grill is a lesser-known pub in the surprisingly tranquil Ravenswood Gardens enclave of Ravenswood that lies adjacent to the North Branch of the Chicago River. Whether you’re sitting outside in the sidewalk café that runs along Eastwood Avenue or inside with its hardwood floors and cream-colored walls displaying an impressive array of old photos of Chicago neighborhoods and other related memorabilia, you’ll find an impressive menu of food & drink at Rockwell’s. The burgers are the big hit but we’ve also had the blackened fish tacos (satisfyingly spicy and filling) and the pork chop (quite large and tasty, either grilled or blackened) and Rockwell’s serves brunch until 1pm on weekends. The beer list is also quite long with several craft ales on tap. Rockwell’s opened in 2003 by immigrants from Texas fleeing 110° summers, and we’re glad they did.
