Chicago Bistro Project “Quick Bite”
We first discovered SushiSamba in New York with its Mondrian-like riot of colors. When we heard that SushiSamba Rio was coming to Chicago, we wasted no time—where else could we find Peruvian-Brazilian-Japanese fusion? Upon entering SushiSamba, you may be overwhelmed by the bright purples, golds and reds of the oval island bar and the curving dining room and the DJ-infused soundtrack. Warning: trying to figure out what to order can be a challenge with the apertivos (small appetizer plates), hot & cold appetizers, anticuchos (small pieces of grilled & skewered meat), seviches (blending of raw fish “cooked” with the citric acid of lemons/limes), tiraditos (same as seviche/ceviche but with long strips of fish instead of cubes and without onion), oysters and other raw shellfish, main dishes, churrasco (steaks), and sushi rolls. It all makes our head spin, so we recommend the house specialty Chilean sea bass—almost as good as Pars Cove. Bonus: check out the rooftop bar. You can also find locations of SushiSamba in Miami, Las Vegas and Tel Aviv. For more information, check out the SushiSamba website. Chin-Chin!
